三国志「泣いて馬謖を切る」を観て
馬謖（ばしょく）は諸葛孔明に長期間仕え、
彼の智謀を学び、
自身も兵法に通じていますので
実戦でも功を立てると思われました。
蜀軍の兵站の要、
街亭を守備する役割を諸葛孔明に申し出て任されました。
その際諸葛孔明は、
軍を初めて指揮する馬謖に
慎重な王平将軍を補佐役として付け、
二人で協議して
街亭を死守するように指示していました。
それにもかかわらず、
馬謖は軍の指揮官としての権力を
手にして驕り高ぶります。
王平は山の上に陣をしくことに固執する
馬謖をいさめ、
諸葛孔明の指示したとおりに平地に陣を敷いて、
守備することを馬謖に進言しますが、
馬謖はそれを聞き入れず、
自分の考えに従わない王平を、
叱りとばす始末。
結果はご存知の通り、
弧山の上に陣を敷いた馬謖軍は、
司馬懿（シバイ）軍の十五万の兵に包囲され、
馬謖軍は水源を持たないために
兵は疲弊し容易に命を落とします。
このシーンを見ていて、
私は感じました。
馬謖は実際に軍を率いる軍権という権威を初めて手にして、
副将の王平の意見を聞き入れることがありませんでした。
冷静沈着で智謀を備え豪胆でもあると思われた馬謖でさえ
日ごろ手にしたことのない権力を持って驕り高ぶり、
他者の考えに耳を傾けなくなるということです。
長きに渡って貧乏生活を送ってきた人が
にわかに大金を手にした途端に生活が乱れ、
放縦になるのとどこか似ています。
馬謖の場合は、
メンタルレベルのコントロールを失っていました。
馬謖の話から
私はにわかに手にした権力故に、
その権力の座から失脚した
あの防災担当大臣のことを思い出します。
